PIXMA iP4000R

Less wires. More performance. The Canon PIXMA™ iP4000R Photo Printer delivers high speed, superb quality and the ultimate freedom of wireless printing. Conforming to the IEEE 802.11g wireless (WiFi) standard, it can receive wireless transmissions within a range of up to 164 feet. 1 Now, you can print a photo or report from your patio to your den, or from your kitchen to your home office - no wires required! Click here for the PIXMA iP4000R Home Networking questions and answers. With direct photo printing, just connect any PictBridge compatible digital camera or DV camcorder, and print. You can even produce edge-to-edge true borderless photos in 4 x 6, 5 x 7 and 8.5 x 11 in. sizes, with the look and feel of traditional photographs. The ContrastPLUS 5-color ink system - four dye-based inks plus a pigment-based black ink - produces true-life photos along with laser-quality text. To achieve a high resolution of up to 4800 x 1200 color dpi, 2 Canon Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE) uses a high-performance 1,856-nozzle print head that ejects precise, consistent droplets as small as 2 picoliters. Need speed? You can blaze through document printing at up to 25 ppm in black and up to 17 ppm in color, 3 and a beautiful 4" x 6" borderless photo takes only 36 seconds. 3 Canon Think Tank System™. To help reduce printing costs, 4 this unique system has five individual ink tanks that let you replace only the color that runs out, rather than an entire cartridge containing unused ink. Plus, a unique low-ink sensor alerts you when ink levels are low, so you are prepared to just drop in a new tank when needed. Have the right paper ready. When you go wireless, your remote printer has to have the right paper ready! A dual paper path lets you print photos and documents from another room without getting up to switch paper.

Great Printer
Date: July 18, 2009
Pros: durable, reliable
I have been using this printer hard wired via ethernet to a wireless router for over 4 years. I am in no rush to replace it. It works great. Ink is not cheap but it is affordable. The quality of the printing is outstanding for the value. Keep up the good work.

Plug and play, Not Fickle!
Date: December 6, 2008
Pros: Easy Setup, Low Ink Consumption, wireless
I hate fickle printers that always havew some reason not to print.. This in not one of those. THisi is plug and play, except that it is also wireless. Exclent picture printing, good ink value. That other guy sells printers cheap but the long term ink cost are unbearable. Thank you for keepint the drivers on line, as i always loose my disk.
A++++ after one year of ownership!
