PowerShot G6

This exciting successor in the high-performance G-Series takes a big step forward with a new optical system that optimizes the impressive 7.1-Megapixel CCD for crystal clear image quality. And while the camera is loaded with SLR-style functions and sports a 2-inch LCD monitor, it's more compact than the previous model!

Still taking great pictures after 5 years
Date: February 9, 2010
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD
Cons: Poor Low-Light Performance
I bought this camera back in 2005 and it has held up really well. It's obviously an older model so it's not as fast as the newer versions. I haven't had any real problems with it and I use it often. It is very durable and still looks almost new. My only complaint would be that it has problems with low light situations on auto. It's also on the bulky side but I knew that when I bought it. I would defiantly recommend this one to my friends.

PowerShot with fastest lens
Date: December 13, 2008
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable, same battery as 10d and 20d
Cons: not available in black
A point and shoot that performs with professional results.
This is a perfect companion to my EOS 20D. Both cameras share the same battery, information LCD's are very similar. The swing-out LCD is a must for nature shots.

A good all-purpose camera.
Date: December 5, 2008
Pros: easy to use, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, good battery life, durable
Cons: Complicated controls/menu, sluggish performance.
I like this camera more than I do the newer G7, G9 and G10 models because it isn't over-crowding the sensor with excessive pixels and this is the last G-series to have a rotating LCD...a design of which its benefits cannot be understated. Don't expect blazing speed with this camera, though, as newer Canons...probably thanks to newer versions of the DIGIC processor...are consideraby faster performers.

Good quality pix, cold be tougher
Date: November 25, 2008
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life
Cons: Flimsy Construction
I have taken many beautiful photos with the PowerShot G6. It is easy to use, and the screen is nice and big. My only complaint is that small metal parts on the camera tend to bend (and can actually be bent back into shape). I would prefer it if the G6 camera were made of tougher materials.
