Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable
I got this camera as a graduation present in the sixth grade so, trust me, this camera has been through it all. I've taken it on trips all over the place, have had my friends abuse it constantly, and it saw me through a recent photography phase of mine (which isn't really a phase at all). It recently broke, due to a clumsy friend of mine who still will not own up to it, and that means that it's seen about three or four good years. I cannot commend it enough. It has WONDERFUL picture quality (though it is nothing professional), the scene modes were plentiful, although it could do with more, but if you're a beginner (like me) you won't mind, capturing pictures isn't frustrating like other cameras because it went pretty fast, it was extremely simple to use, and it was very lightweight and compact, making it easy for me to carry anywhere. The Macro function was also a godsend. The only criticism I have is that the LCD screen was quite small. Otherwise, I, a mediocre and intermediate photographer who mainly used the camera for social events and for a few photography escapades, would rate this camera a 9/10. I will soon upgrade to a new Canon camera. I was very tempted by the flashy designs of other camera companies, but you know... Canon truly makes the best cameras out there. :)
