CanoScan LiDE 60

4 easy buttons automate the scanning process. For work or play, the sleek CanoScan LiDE 60 Color Image Scanner is a one-stop scanning machine. Four easy buttons automate the scanning process, making it simple to scan, copy, and create e-mail attachments or PDFs. Just position your original and select the use for the image! Old family snapshots, important documents, your work samples and personal notebooks-whatever the task, the LiDE 60 scanner will get it done fast. The USB 2.0 Hi-Speed interface enables incredibly fast image transfers to your computer, with the fastest possible scanning speeds and previews of your scans in approximately 9 seconds. One simple cable provides both power and the USB connection, reducing the number of wires around your desk. Plus, an included desktop stand gives you the option of positioning the scanner vertically to save desk space. As you'd expect, this versatile machine also delivers high-quality scanning performance. It produces a maximum 1200 x 2400 color dpi resolution (software enhanced: 19,200 color dpi) and 48-bit color depth, for over 281 trillion possible colors. The LiDE 60 scanner comes with powerful software including our CanoScan Toolbox 4.9, which provides a range of creative and practical tools. Smart features for amazing results. This is one intelligent scanner. For larger projects, Multi-Scan Mode lets you scan multiple images simultaneously, rather than one by one. Just arrange them on the glass and select "Multi-Scan"- that's it! For convenience, each image is automatically saved as an individual file. The LiDE 60 scanner also comes with Quick Automatic Retouching and Enhancement (QARE) technology, which reduces much of the dust and scratches that may appear on your older originals. It even auto-corrects to help with graininess, picture fading and improper backlighting. After enhancement you can archive these beautiful images and then e-mail them or print them for family and friends. Through thick or thin, the Z-Lid™ top delivers. The unique Z-Lid expansion top even delivers high-quality scans of bulky items such as personal notebooks. It lifts approximately 1 inch vertically then lies down flat on the item you are scanning, for a clear, complete scan.

Great Scanner for Designers
Date: January 7, 2010
Pros: Compact Design, durable, High resolution, High-speed scanning, easy to use, usb-powered
Cons: scanner bed is just over letter-size
I love this scanner. I had one in college for a while, lost it in a move and got another one. I do a lot of graphic and web design and this scanner is awesome. It's small, lightweight and portable. I can fit it in my laptop bag. It's usb-powered so there's only one cable needed. It scans quickly and with a good quality. The Canon software and plugins are good. It integrates with Photoshop (if you're on photoshop CS4 for mac you'll need to download the TWAIN plugin from Adobe as well as the canon drivers). Overall a great scanner as long as you don't need to scan huge images (which hasn't ever been an issue for me.

Great Scanner
Date: May 3, 2009
Pros: Compact Design, durable, easy to use, High-speed scanning, Fast Connectivity, High resolution
I have had mine for several years. I am a realtor. I carry it in my case with my laptop. I am not easy with either.
I like the fact that it runs on my laptop power and only uses one cable. I get clean clear copies. I have no software problems with mine.
I just switched to an Apple puter and am looking for a driver for it to run my Cano Scan. I happened across this page.
VERY Durable.

looses driver
Date: January 7, 2009
Cons: don't bundle software for purchase
Lots of Canon purchases. Not happy with this scanner. Keeps loosing driver, or fails to open with driver. Continually have to download. Using iBook with latest OSX. Bundled sampled software keeps showing up with downloads. I don't want to purchase, and don't like the confusion with basic software. Very frustrated trying to use this thing. Have had to start from stratch with fresh install too many times.
