PIXMA MP450

A versatile desktop performer. If you're looking for outstanding print performance combined with Print-Copy-Scan convenience, look no further. With one machine, you can easily print high-quality photos and text, copy important documents, and scan your photos and other images. To achieve its impressive print results, Canon Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE) uses an innovative print head with 1,472 nozzles that eject consistent, precise ink droplets as small as 2 picoliters. More nozzles + higher accuracy = better photos. This patented technology produces an outstanding resolution of up to 4800 x 1200 color dpi 1 , for superb detail and photo-realism. It,s fast, too; printing a beautiful photo lab quality 4"x 6" borderless photo takes approximately 55 seconds 2 .

Pros: reliable, Compact Design, Easy Setup, durable, Lightweight/Portable, Sharp Tones & Colors, fast print speed, easy to use
We did not hook up the Pixma MP450 when we got the computer but wrestled with the old one for 2 years. Finally resolved to kick out the old we installed the MP450 and are really pleased with print quality and scanning capabilities. This is a top notch printer for the home setting.

Pros: easy to use, reliable
Cons: High Ink Consumption
I have owned this printer for over 2 years, and it has been working well. Scans well, copies well, and prints are very good. I would like it to scan at a higher resolution than 600dpi, but it is good for what I paid. The only problem is that it uses the colored ink too fast, and color cartridges are too expensive.

Pros: durable, Easy Setup, easy to use, reliable
Cons: Large Footprint
My Pixma MP450 has served me as printer and copier without problem since January 2006. It is in home use, probably a little lighter duty cycle than many users. 50/51 series ink cartridges usually last me three to four months except during Christmas holiday period. It has a long, sometimes annoying, "first copy" time which I beleive is due to frequent print head cleaning, etc. I happily accept that as the price paid for quality output and no extra maintence or early failures. There are others with fax and autofeed, but this meets my needs very well.

Cons: unreliable
I've gone through two of these printers in as many years.
Loved the first one so much that when it stopped working after a year, I bought the second one. Now, another year later, the second one has stopped working as well. I guess if you're willing to buy one everyyear, it's worth the price...........but I'm not buying a third.

I love my all-in-one printer-scanner-copier. the pictures are clear, scans are quick, Easy to use, and then...
picked up a CANON cl-31 refurbished ink cartridge. Device does not "recognized" Canon's own cartridge. I was hoping I could find patch, tips, advice etc, but no luck. This makes my Christmas Calendar Suprise gift for all my family members a bust.
