The lPIXMA-160 Multifunctional Inkjet printer has worked very well for all phases of my personal and business activities. Recently, when I upgraded to Windows 7 (64 bit) a Cannon teck sent me a very understgandable EMaIL ON HOW TO UPGRAdE the driver TO WINDOWS 7 AND IT WORKS PERFECTLY. I did have to reload the disk to get the Copier function and the manual on the computer but that worked out very well. Thank you for mfg such a great printer!

Not bad while it lasted
Date: October 31, 2009
Pros: Compact Design, Easy Setup, easy to use Cons: Slow Print Speed, High Ink Consumption, unreliable, a record of paper feed issues (check the internet)
This printer worked pretty well for 2-1/2 years, but then ran into major paper feed issues. It would grab multiple sheets at once and jam. So we started loading only one sheet, but eventually it got so it would not load the one sheet most of the time. It would complain about a jam without loading the paper even a little.
Prior to that, I was generally happy, except that ink usage seemed overly high, the output was not always aligned (despite going through alignment procedures), and the beginning of a print cycle (or resetting an error, like out of paper of paper jam--even when the jam was a non-feed situation) was often very slow.

overall good workhorse
Date: October 5, 2009
Pros: fast print speed, Low Ink Consumption, reliable Cons: Heavy/Bulky
One of the most reliable all-n-one printer/scanners I've had. Initially had problems when I used it with an Apple laptop. To the person who blamed lack of page numbers on the MP160 - that is a user error not the fault of the printer.

Jack of all trades, value for money!
Date: September 10, 2009
Pros: Easy Setup, easy to use Cons: High Ink Consumption
My other AIO printer from other manufacturer bonked down, and was in need of a cheap replacement AIO. Glad I made the right choice with this one. Good scanning capabilities and printing for home use. Best of all, it doesn't cost a bomb.

I have found that many Inkjet based printers consume a lot of ink and this one is not any different. However, the overall performance of this unit is great. Excellent scanning (color tones). And, in may cases, I have found it to actually improve the scanned image when printing through this device.
Also, printers generally do not number the pages themselves. That function is found in your word processing software. So, ignore the review about page numbering.

hate that it won't number pages
Date: August 19, 2009
Cons: High Ink Consumption, no option for numbering pages
There is no option for numbering pages. This function is so basic. How can they not include it? I have had this printer for 3+ years, trust me it is not there, and there is no fix for it in product support on cannons site. Large documents are difficult to manage without page numbers. I would not recommend this junk to anyone.

Best Little Scanner!
Date: April 29, 2009
Pros: Compact Design, Lightweight/Portable, durable, Easy Setup, fast print speed, reliable, Sharp Tones & Colors Cons: need to change printer setting when scanning to pc
In it's 3rd year now and I would not trade it. I am very happy with the way it prints and scans. I have a small business and my invoices look great. I have never had a problem with it. The only draw back for me, If I want to scan opictures to my pc I need to change my printer settings. But I would not give up this product!

Good Home Printer/Scanner/Copier
Date: February 26, 2009
Pros: Compact Design, Easy Setup, easy to use, fast print speed, Sharp Tones & Colors, scanner speed Cons: noisy when printing begins, paper tray on front falls off easily
This is a good home printer. Good size, and easy to set up. The scanner and copier also work very well. Print and images are clear and look great. I like that the top lifts to use as a copier, instead of just feeding it through the paper feeder. Color is excellent.
It is noisy though, when printing, there's a loud clunk when the paper first feeds through. A friend has the same printer, with the same noise, but she likes hers as well. Mine stopped working properly about a month ago, it lasted a little less than two years, it started pulling paper through at an angle, and jams, and no printing can be done now. We did not use it extensively, we were only on the third toner cartridge in 2 years. There is nothing stuck in it which I thought could be the reason for the problem. Although the paper feeder no longer works, the scanner still does. We may have it repaired, but have purchased another all-in-one until we can get that done.

Very NIce Printer
Date: February 18, 2009
Pros: Easy Setup, easy to use, fast print speed, reliable Cons: Large Footprint, High Ink Consumption
As a general rule this has been one of the nicest printers we have owned & used. It seems like our color ink especially doesn't last too long and so far we've not been able to locate the high capacity cartridges for the printer. That being said, for our use it has been a great printer! We have been very pleased with the performance!

We have owned this printer for 1 1/2 years and it gets used every day. I don't recall ever having a hangup or paper snag of any kind. My wife takes a lot of photos and prints many of them to give away. She also is doing a family tree and prints everything. If I had to find one complaint, I would say it's too noisy. It sounds like its breaking to pieces when it prints but it has never failed to print. We have owned two other brands of all in one printers and I would buy another Canon if the need arose.

It was good for 2 years (Jan 2007 - Dec 2008). Then it won't install into new computer(the scan part), even it is still a XP OS. The website's update still won't work as the zip file won't work. I think Canon needs to update again. Otherwise i can only use it as a pure printer/copier.

Love my Canon
Date: January 2, 2009
Pros: Compact Design, Lightweight/Portable, durable, Easy Setup, easy to use, fast print speed, Low Ink Consumption, reliable, Sharp Tones & Colors, great performance 4 $
Replacement for much more expensive brand. A little over 2 years old, used almost daily and still works like new. I'm a computer novice and not mechanically inclined, so it really amazed me at how easy to operate product is. My husband even uses it and he is bigger computer novice than myself. Stingy with ink, yet it produces great images. Compact, light weight, perfectly matches computer and we love it.
