CanoScan LiDE 600F

Scan family snapshots, school projects, important documents-even your child's spelling award. Whatever the task, this versatile scanner makes it simple. Large function buttons automate the process, so it's easy to scan originals and e-mail them or create PDFs. The Advanced Double-Hinge-Lid opens 180 degrees allowing clear, complete scans of your thickest originals such as notebooks. Plus, the provided stand holds the scanner vertically, saving you desktop space.

Great Scanner.. except for buttons issue
Date: February 22, 2010
Pros: Compact Design, durable, Fast Connectivity, High resolution, High-speed scanning, easy to use
Cons: cannot disable buttons
This is a great scanner.. except for one glaring issue. You cannot disable the buttons!
This scanner is designed for desktop use. Well, sometimes I bump the scanner with a file folder, book or even my hand as I'm moving things. The scanner then launches, forcing an action to stop/cancel. Annoying.
A user should have the option of enabling/disabling the buttons.

Great little scanner
Date: July 15, 2009
Pros: Compact Design, durable, easy to use, Fast Connectivity, usb powered
Handiest scanner I have ever had. Just pull it out of a bookcase when I need it. So light I can use it on my lap ( I don't do a lot of scanning ! ). The software isn't great, but this is a review of the scanner not the software. It works flawlessly with Paint Shop Pro, Microsoft Document Imaging, Publisher, etc. I especially like that it is USB powered - fewer cables to lose. I noted one reviewer complained that it would not run off a USB hub - I plug it into one of the front USB ports on my computer(s), but did test it on a powered USB hub and it worked fine. I suspect his/her problem was with the hub, not the scanner.

Drivers need updated. Personal settings won't stay
loaded. Nice scanner. Also scanning more negetives at once would be better.

Great scanner but.....
Date: January 8, 2009
Pros: Compact Design, Fast Connectivity, portable
Cons: software/drivers
The scanner works well but the software/drivers leave a lot to be desired. I love Canon products, the hardware is great but please Mr Canon how about a new driver and Toolbox software to fix the constant software crashes. When I scan using third part software such as Adobe or PDFcreator, the scanner works great but when you use the pdf buttons on the scanner the Toolbox software rarely opens because the files continually get 'corrupted' and have to be reinstalled.
