I have used Canon for a long time. This camera has made me look like a pro. I have sold many of my photos in the community as I have them made into Giclee paintings and they look like an oil painting. As another user said, you have to get out of your comfort zone with the auto setttings and learn how to use the P<TV>AV> setttings. It's not so tough to figure it out if you experiment!

Have a good time with your Canon!

Pros: Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, good battery life
Cons: blurry pics

I have had this camera for 2 + years. I take more pics than most people, I try to everyday. When I get a good pic, It is nice, clear, good color. My problem is that out of 100 pics only 10 are keepers, and only 2 are "great". Most of the time the pics are blurry. I've upgraded to the 70-200 L series lens. I allways use manual settings, I think the auto focus is not detecting the correct range. Is there any way to sync (I know the camera detects what type of lens is on the camera, but its like mine is off just a little. Manual focus is where i usually get the better pics. the sweet spot for my lens is either 3.2 or the 7"s. Im thinking up upgradeing to the D7 this winter. thanks

My husband purchased this for me over 2 years ago. He knew that I lke taking pictures but wanted great quality. I searched this camera out in terms of what I was looking for and found the EOS. I started using it and getting my pictures I felt this was a good quality product for the price and I have stuck with it every since. Now that i am more familiar with the camera I want to buy more lens and other accessories to do more things with it

Did I do that? Date: September 1, 2009
Pros: Superior build quality, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, quiet, Quick Start-up time, Solid Operation, easy to use, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, rich vibrant photos, quick rapid shoot, fully manipulative to the photographers knowledge
Cons: the stock neck strap can be made to better comfort

As a person that appreciates quality and artistic photos i must say that this is by far one of my favorite cameras to use. If you can understand and are willing leap out of the auto settings you will fly and coast with the best photos you can take. the auto settings are great for novices as the camera adjusts its settings to best absorb the correct amount of light to exposure in it's capabilites, which are not as good as the naked eye (this is with any camera). To get pics that are exact to the naked eye you will need to move to your manual settings. only a person who is knowledgable or willing to learn can understand what i am saying. as for the novice photographers the auto settings will still do an awesome job for you until you ar ready to learn how to manipulate your fstop, apeture, and iso's. REMEMBER A CAMERA IS ONLY AS GOOD AND THE PHOTOGRAPHER BEHIND THE LENS.

Pros: excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, easy to use

First and foremost it is an SLR camera, and you really need to understand how to use an SLR in order to get the image quality that you expect.

I was admittedly disappointed with some of my photos at first given the cost of the camera, however once I was comfortable with the features and setting and moved past the auto modes the quality of my pictures immensely. I gained much greater control of the image.

If you are just going to use it in the auto modes there are cheaper point-and-shoots that will take just as good pictures, however, if you are ready to venture deeper this is a great camera!

This is my first DSRL camera and i have been very pleased with it. I hope to upgrade later. I have not had any problems with this camera. I keep reading reviews about underexposed pictures and too much of a certain color. Listen, you need to learn how to use your camera before you go and putting it down. I had the same problem, but then i learnt how to fix that problem. I haven't had any problems with unexposed photos. If someone is reliant on a flash, then just get a point and shoot. Otherwise, this is a good camera to start with.

Pros: Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, quiet, Quick Start-up time, easy to use, good battery life
Cons: wish the shutter speed when a little higher

This camera is awesome. It's a great camera for beginners and well as professionals. People who are complaining about the auto modes need to learn how to use the manual settings and focus. Once you do I doubt you'll ever have a complaint about this camera again.

Incredible! Date: April 23, 2009
Pros: Superior build quality, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Nice features/settings, quiet, Solid Operation, easy to use, good battery life

This is just an incredible camera. It does everything I ask it to do and more besides. I've had it slightly over two years and am still befuddled by all the things it will do for me. The standard booklet is clear mostly, but you need a more detailed guide, for more information.

I have noticed there is a slight - very slight - delay when taking flash photos with the camera. It does slightly under expose indoors, unless I direct it not to, you can make an adjustment to take care of that. The nut behind the wheel is always the major problem you know...

It is easy to use, much lighter than the previous Rebel model, and a joy to use. Since it uses every Canon - as well as many other makes - lens, it is so flexible and capable, that sometimes I am overwhelmed with all the choices. The stock lens is great, very sharp, very good depth of field, and so easy to use. My 'extra' Canon lens all work so well with it, it is hard to forget they are 'extras,' and not the original lens.

I would tell anyone thinking of getting their first - or twenty-first SLR digital camera to buy one. Canon support is also terrific; I just wish we had a good camera shop here in Cheyenne offering more accessories...

What a great camera. The photos i take look amazing. I know many people have had a problem with the auto point shoot indoors and under exposure. Since i only ever use manual focusing i have never experienced this problem. I like having total control of my shots. I would tell any one interested in this camera not to hesitate! If the auto point shoot is a problem then upgrade to the XSI. I have also used that and it doesnt have that issue. But you will pay much more.

Solid Camera Date: March 29, 2009
Pros: Superior build quality, excellent image quality, quiet, Quick Start-up time, good battery life

I have owned this camera for over two years now, and I am looking to upgrade it. It has kept its cash value pretty well. The problem that I am having is that I do not need to buy another camera. I just need to get new lenses for this camera to upgrade it. It is a wonderful problem to have. This camera has been used to take pictures of my four children and several weddings.

The only bad thing about this camera is that the flash takes awhile to "reload" in between pictures.

I've had my Xti for about a year or so now and enjoy it immensely. I'm on the market for a better lens and that's the great thing about D-SLR photography. you don't have to upgrade your camera like you would a PC.

the picture and feature set is worth it's weight in GOLD

Finest Camera I have Ever Owned Date: December 27, 2008
Pros: image quality, focus speed, cycle time, memory capacity
Cons: smaller body is not as comfortable to hold.

I already owned the original EOS Rebel which I purchased to replace my original Canon EOS 35mm Camera. I now use both the Rebel and the Rebel XTI.
I use XTI Primarily for my nature and scenic photography,
I use the Rebel for my rough and tumble trail work.

The speed of the Xti makes it much better for use in difficult shooting situations like fireworks shows where long exposures, and fast cycle times are most important.

a good overall camera Date: December 3, 2008
I upgraded from an XT (which was an upgrade from the film version of the Rebel 2000), and I have not been disappointed on the whole. In automatic modes, there are exposure issues, except for the rapid frame sports mode. However, if you are interested in only using auto modes then you don;t need to buy this camera. If you use the program mode or the manual mode, you will not be disappointed.

I combine the camera with the 580 EX strobe and the 18-85 EFS image stabilization lens and I have no complaints. The quality is consistently good. the only limitation with this camera is the person using it. Believe it has every capability of taking professional quality shots. I have been using the camera now for two years, the flash for one year and the lens for about eight months.

Everything I hoped for! Date: December 2, 2008
Pros: lots of auto-modes, easy to access custom settings, clear thorough & illustrated instructions, nice software, size- i can fit it in one of my larger purses
Cons: zoom could stand to go a bit farther

This camera was everything I hoped for!

I love all the auto modes it has for days I just don't feel like messing around with custom settings. Of course manual modes don't work for all situations (in manual IOS can only go to 400, colors sometimes off/etc), but photography is never a one-size-fits all!

The first day I got it I was already taking pictures! It's easy to use, the settings are easy to access (you can reach just about everything with one click of a button), and the instructions are thorough and easy to understand. The instructions include pictures, making it easier to find the right buttons, dials, and what the picture outcome should be.

Beware, though, within a year or so you'll find yourself wanting a zoom lens. There's nothing wrong with the zoom, it just doesn't always go as far as you'd probably like (ie, it's hard to get a good shot across the length of a basketball field. It's possible, just very noisy).

I'd recommend this camera to anyone looking to start a small business in photography, or any parent looking to get great pictures everyday. The price may seem a bit steep at first glance, but it's a lot better than some of the other options out there, and I definitely think it's worth it. Be on the look-out for a good sale and you may find that you're able to get the XTi $300+ off!
You can't go back in time, so capture life's moments today...you won't regret it!

I really like this camera because the day i got it i could figure everything out really quickly. It is comfortable to use and it is just great overall. My only problem is it wont focus all the way ever so i have to take it off of automatic focus and put it into manual. Which really isnt all that bad. Other than that it is great.
