PowerShot A550

Easy-to-use and easy-to-hold, the PowerShot A550 gives you 7.1 Megapixels, a 4x Optical Zoom Lens, an ISO 800 feature for expanded low-light shooting and a DIGIC II Image Processor with iSAPS technology for beautiful pictures and great performance. Plus, there's even a Fast Frame Rate Movie Mode. Power is never a problem, because the A550 uses standard "AA" batteries. Great features at a great price - it's what makes the A550 such an amazing camera.

Good, Compact, low price
Date: December 24, 2009
Pros: Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Short battery life, slow & not good in low light & speed shots
In general the performance is good for the low price. Compact and easy to use and change settings. Little slow in "kids & pets and night shot settings". Mind your battery power always. Image quality is good (But not excellent). Enough for home, learning & picnic uses. Cannot compare the image quality in Camera LCD and in PC view, because looks better in camera LCD.

Great Camera, BUT
Date: November 12, 2009
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Lightweight/Portable
Cons: Short battery life, Flimsy Construction
I love the features, ease of use and portability of this camera. But, like many other reviews I've read, I had real problems with the shutter button falling off. Possible indication of lower quality materials??? Otherwise, it's a great camera.

I like the pictures, but it does eat batteries. Handling is very good, you can hold it very easily. I have gotten very good pictures from it.
