very easy to use product
Date: February 24, 2010
Pros: Easy Setup, fast print speed, easy to use
Cons: flimsy paper tray
This mulifunction printer is very easy to set up. Just follow the steps in the manual. The printing ppm is fast. The fax works well and the copier prints are very sharp. I have not used the scanner yet but i'm sure if I follow the manual that it will work just fine. It is set up as a local printer. The paper tray could use an upgrade (flimsy)

Manual intervention for scan is unreasonable
Date: January 27, 2010
Pros: reliable, High Quality Output, fast print speed
Cons: Difficult to use, manual setup of scan
Prints nicely BUT the need to push a button to bring the printer to an active state and THEN have to push the SCAN button to enable the printer to scan a photo on the platen is IMO inane.

Cons: Flimsy Construction
We had a Canon PC1060 that we liked and when it was wore out we bought this one. Set up was very easy, I just stuck the disk in my computer & it loaded into my printer files and was ready to go. The 2 sided printing is neat. Does not come with USB cable. Need to order when you buy printer. Paper tray is flimsy.

Excellent network printer and scanner small office
Date: January 12, 2010
Pros: reliable, Easy Setup, durable, Small Footprint, High Quality Output, fast print speed, easy to use
This is an excellent printer/scanner/fax/copier for the small office. We have been using it for several months and find the output quality and response excellent. I highly recommend the Canon MF4370dn for a single user or multiple in a small office environment.

Great features, setup could be easier
Date: December 14, 2009
Pros: duplexing, mac-compatible multifunction laser printer
Cons: Difficult Setup
I chose this printer because I have just switched from PC to Mac, and my old, similar Canon printer is old and doesn't have Mac drivers. I love the features -- scanning, duplexing, fast printing, copying. Setup was not the easiest -- since I have Snow Leopard on my Mac, the drivers on the provided CD weren't working. I downloaded the drivers from the Canon website, but I still couldn't get the printer to print. Got on the phone with Canon and a nice guy told me to download the online driver, which I thought I had already done, but now it's working. Good customer service, quick phone call.

Great Value
Date: December 9, 2009
Pros: reliable, Easy Setup, fast print speed, easy to use, good price value
This is networked into 3 office computers and so far the data transfer speeds, effeciency, features and print quality are verry good. Very easy to use. This is our second canon and we love them for their reliability as well as low ink costs per page vs. the others we have had. Great Price too.

Pros: easy to use
I've had this printer since October 2008. I did run into some of the scan problems others mentioned. I found I just needed to be quick on the scanning from my pc after I went to scan mode.
Setup was easy It is networked, and I don't think I had to use the manual to find the network settings.
I am pleased with the printer. I would buy this one again if I needed to.

worked for printing not scanning
Date: December 1, 2009
Yea it has a discent print quality and prints good, but won't scan anything for the life of me.. keeps telling me device is busy..don't know why and don't care to know at this point.. canon should have kept this is R&D much longer. This is not a device for people that are not very tecnologically savy

good printer, weak documentation
Date: November 20, 2009
Pros: High Quality Output, fast print speed
Cons: Difficult Setup, Difficult to use
I like the printer and print quality. I dislike the aforementioned issue with USB. It bit us, so we went to add it to our networked printer collection... only to discover that the printer network settings were both hard to set (interface for entering data lacks an easy way to back out of setting changes) and we couldn't figure out how to print a master settings report.
Rule 1 of a good user interface is that no user action changes the settings unless confirmed, and there is always a way to back out if you make a mistake.
The keypad interface was obviously user tested by the guy who wrote the interface... always a big mistake!
Worse yet? The support website that requires lots of complex and buggy javascript to display (well, two copies of IE and a copy of firefox could not provide us with correct links - and showed as blank on IE! To be fair, a browse of the source code indicated that they may have been debugging it... live) some simple download links.
In summary, apart from the difficult to configure and display network settings, and the issues with USB, and the difficulty in getting information... it's not a bad printer.

Fax function
Date: November 19, 2009
You cannot use the automatic fax function unless your answer phone is attached to the machine. When you have them in different rooms, you must use the manual setting.
It was very difficult to figure that out without help from a technician. Otherwise, I believe this is a high quality machine.

USB cable
Date: November 11, 2009
Just an FYI...I was about to throw my beautiful printer 10 stories down because it would not print, but I found out that all that it needed was a functional USB cable. I was using USB 2.0, and apparently this isn't supported. I was confused as to why my printer would print sometimes and not others, but using an older cable seems to have solved this problem.

No Problems at all Vista 64bit
Date: August 25, 2009
Pros: High Quality Output, fast print speed, reliable, easy to use
Cons: operating manual could be more detailed
Fast easy to use. Ready from cold startup to print in just a few seconds. A little slower when automatically printing on both sides of the paper but still acceptable.
Less expensive and faster printing in black text compared to inkjet printer.
Operation manual a bit confusing

Good idea -- needs work
Date: August 23, 2009
Pros: fast print speed, Small Footprint
Cons: unreliable, scanner output quality
Print is fast and of good quality. Setup easy. Scanner is very difficult to get a quality scan, and there are no real controls available to the user to adjust.
I would not buy again.

Won't print Postscript
Date: August 14, 2009
Pros: Small Footprint
Cons: Difficult Setup, poor documentation
Can't find any info that verifies if this will print a postscript document but it appears to not do so. I've set up hundreds of printers in 27 years and this info should be readily available. Poor documentation in this area.

Wow!
Date: March 3, 2009
Pros: High Quality Output, fast print speed, durable, reliable, Easy Setup, easy to use, Small Footprint
Maybe its because I'm over sixty and have bought a dozen printers over 27 years, several fax machines and three scanners, but this was so easy to set up and use and the quality is amazing. My 13 year old Apple Laser Printer/Fax finally died, original purchase price $2900, but this tremendous value.

Good Value
Date: January 22, 2009
Pros: High Quality Output, fast print speed, Easy Setup, easy to use
I'm on my second printer of this model type, I also have an MF4150. I bought this mainly because I can perform 2 button scanning directly to PDF. Press scan button and press the start button. In 15-30 seconds I have a nice PDF of the document I need. I'm lazy so it works well for me.
The printing portion works as I would expect it to. It prints quickly and quietly.
The network/USB option is nice to have. Choice is good.
I didn't really have any issues with setup other than the setup wizard does too much for me, I prefer to set my own options. Though it was a beneficial feature that the setup tool automatically finds the printer during the network setup.

Definitely the scanning function needs to be fixed. Exchanged the printer twice and they all are exhitbited the same scanning issue. Talked to Canon technical support he admitted there are some driver bugs. I have spent so much time to set up the scanner but only worked intermittenly and very unreliable.

Have several, work very well
Date: December 16, 2008
Pros: High Quality Output, fast print speed, durable, reliable, Easy Setup, easy to use, Small Footprint, very configurable
Cons: network scanning not easy to setup, musr power cycle when changing network settinggs
Print quality is excellent, ADF is reliable with Copy and FAX. Network scanning is not at all intuitive to setup, but works well once finally setup. Printing and fax are simple to setup for both the admin and the user. No network connectivity issues as long as one remembers to power cycle after changing settings. This is the 7th one of these I've installed, and all are working very well, with no service or quality issues. At this price, and with duplexing for print/copy/fax, I believe it is an excellent quality machine and a good value for a mid-volume workgroup in a very small package. Very happy, will buy more.

Strange
Date: December 14, 2008
Pros: High Quality Output, fast print speed
Cons: Difficult Setup, Difficult to use, menu system, scanning system, network connectivity issues
Some really strange quirks with this model escpecially the crazy way that you must implement scanning. Clearly a product that needed more time in R&D before launch. Let's hope that Canon cures some of these mistakes with a firmware update!!
