Great printer
Date: October 28, 2009
Pros: Compact Design, Lightweight/Portable, durable, Easy Setup, easy to use, fast print speed, Sharp Tones & Colors, fantastic value for the $
I bought this printer to replace my Selphy CP510, which I loved but have a terrible time finding paper and cartridges for now that it's an older model. So I bought the 780. The advances in technology from the 510 are huge. The card slots are super convenient since I have Nikons in addition to Canon cameras and the Nikon could not connect directly to the 510 to print. Now I don't even need my laptop to print pics because the direct-from-card printing is much improved from the 510. Love this printer. Love it!

Simplist printer I have bought
Date: October 19, 2009
Pros: Compact Design, Lightweight/Portable, durable, Easy Setup, easy to use, fast print speed, Sharp Tones & Colors
I have had this printer for several days. Very easy to setup and use right out of the box. I like being able to use a camera, card, or computer to print a picture. Most people only want to see 4 x 6's photographs and not look though a stack of large photo's. I will use my larger photo printer for anything over 4 x 6 prints. It does print really nice photographs that I think are amazing! I find the speed of the printing to be very reasonable. The small size is just right for where I do my work. It is a great easy to use photo printer.

Great Printer
Date: October 13, 2009
Pros: Lightweight/Portable, Easy Setup, easy to use, fast print speed, reliable, Sharp Tones & Colors
I really enjoy this product! It's SO EASY to use. I recently bought a digital camera and I wanted a good printer to go with my new hobby, When I bought the CANNON COMPACT printer, I had no idea it would be this much fun. Not only does this printer make THE BEST prints, it is so easy to use that my grandkids can use it! If you like great pictures, an easy to use product and a great price then this is (in my opinion,) the printer for you. You watch right before your eyes, great pictures being made. I can't say enough GOOD things about this printer. Enjoy & Happy Printing.

Only one minor issue...
Date: September 27, 2009
Pros: Compact Design, Lightweight/Portable, Easy Setup, easy to use, fast print speed, Sharp Tones & Colors Cons: finding a store that sells the dedicated paper/ink
I needed to print some pictures for a family member, and my i450 isn't performing as well in that regard as when it was young, so I decided to purchase a dedicated photo printer. After some research, I opted for the Selphy CP780. It's very easy to set up, very easy to use, and the 5 pictures I was able to print with the paper and ink that it came with are beautiful. I just wish the ink cassette/paper set were more readily available. Best Buy, where I made my purchase, doesn't carry them, and my Internet research failed to provide names of any stores in my area (Los Angeles) who do. I'd call Canon Customer Support to see if they could tell me where I can find the right products, but the Care Center is only available Monday through Friday. It's one thing to be "sold separately" and quite another to be able to purchase the printer at a store, but to have to order (and wait for) the supplies needed to enjoy it! I am thankful that I don't have an actual deadline to worry about, but I don't appreciate the hit to my need for instant gratification.

I have received this as a gift. I just love it. It is compact and very easy to use. You have a choice of which size printer paper to use. It works great with the i860 Canon Printer and MX800 Canon printer. I use all of these for the pictures in any size you want. I have also bought the battery pack to use as a portable and the usb adapter for use with my cell phone. These two work great with this machine. I will be buying the other paper cassette tray as well..

Great Little Printer
Date: July 2, 2009
Pros: Compact Design, Lightweight/Portable, durable, Easy Setup, easy to use, fast print speed, reliable, Sharp Tones & Colors, high quality prints Cons: High Ink Consumption
I recently purchased a new computer and received a rebate on this printer, so I got it. I was extremely impressed with the quality of the pictures. For a printer of this price, I was expecting fair quality prints and features. The pictures that are printed from this little machine are the same quality as pictures that are professionally printed. It only does one size print but other than that, it's a great machine and has a reasonable price considering the quality of the photos. I would recommend this machine any day,
My wife and I bought this printer and a Canon A480 camera for her 85 yr. old father. He has never had a digital camera and doesn't own a computer. I plugged the printer in and without reading one word of the owners manual had a printed picture in minutes. It is VERY intuitive, shove a memory card with pictures in, push the on button and scroll through your pictures. When the one you want is in the LCD window push the print button and viola you get a perfect print. We were fascinated by the way the paper runs in and out as the printer added the layers of color.

Superior Product
Date: June 13, 2009
Pros: Compact Design, Lightweight/Portable, Easy Setup, easy to use, fast print speed, Sharp Tones & Colors Cons: none
Purchased this product a couple of days ago and installed it on both my Vista PC and my wife's Apple computer. Absolutely the easiest product to install and use, and there was even a voice to guide me. Had to dump my previous compact printer that the manufacturer deemed to old (5-6 yrs) for providing a Vista driver. Only one paper/dye pack for 5 prints comes with the printer, so be sure to include the 100 pack with your purchase. Cost/print turns out to be less than 30 cents.

I received the printer 05/30/09, so I've had it less than a week. I typically travel with my camera, laptop, and IP90 printer loaded in a sturdy backpack. I purchased the CP-780 because I was making more 4x6 prints than any other size in the field. My preferred workflow is to work from a raw file downloaded to my laptop, and then print. While I still love my IP90, the new CP-780 has proven to be perfect for my needs.
The software is simple and fun to work with, as is the printer itself. Colors are rich, vibrant, and true to what I see on my screen. Images are professionally sharp and snappy. They pop. I've shown the prints and the printer off to everybody, and, just like me, they are floored when they actually see the speed and quailty of output from this cute little device. Give this printer a quality file, it will give you a very high quality print in return. But, just like everything else digital; garbage in = garbage out. Love it!

Printer was received 5.22.09, unpacked and setup after reading the manual. First, my complements to the package designer. FedEx could have thrown it from the truck, bounced it on the sidewalk and it wouldn’t have hurt it. I installed the color ink cassette and initial pack of 4x6 sheets. Inserted an SD card, selected the photo to print and was shocked to hear the printer hum and spit out a bright yellow sheet! But it drew it back in and then out for four passes. Out came a perfect color print. Takes about a minute. There is a little decrease in the original size of the photo. I selected four others for individual printing and all were great – focused, clear, good colors. The supplied cassette does the first five printouts perfectly with the initial pack of 5 - 4x6 sheets. I had ordered the pack of 108 sheets with ink, so removed the spent cassette and installed a new one along with additional sheets. Very easy and convenient. Recycled plastic cassette. Following instructions, I installed software on a computer, connected printer to computer and proceeded with a few more prints. Software allows some adjustments such a print size, and zoom to eliminate unwanted features around the subject. Works great and resulting photos are clear, without distortion. Other software features are offered such as combining a photo with a calendar on a 4x6 card or adding borders. So far I’m completely satisfied with the CP780 and it performs quite well. Plan to take it on the road which will be easy.

I wanted something that could print a quick photo with great quality printing. This printer does the trick and for the price you can't beat it. I purchased one for my father who is not very advanced with technology because it was so simple to use.
