Pros: ease of use, redesigned grip, video, numerous automatic modes, numerous manual modes, fps speed, many many more
Cons: price
I still own two original Canon AE1 film SLR cameras and I have owned and used a digital EOS Rebel XTi for the past 3-1/2 to 4 years. This camera was an upgrade and ... WOW what an understatement that is. From the redesign of the grip to the flip-out view screen to the numerous new features ... and the ability to do 1080P HD Video!! As I said in the title ... a Simply Amazing Camera. Whether you are a complete beginner to SLR cameras and are just using it with completely automatic settings or a seasoned veteran photographer using detailed manual settings ... the camera takes stunning pictures. Canon has again set the bar very high with this latest addition to the EOS line.

I just got into photography when I got the Powershot SX500 IS. But right as I held the t3i camera and snapped my first picture, I was speechless. This camera works best if you know how to use the manual modes, but auto does a great job.

Cons: Dim LCD
My first canon camera was a AE-1 which I still have. that camera is over 40 years old and still works perfectly.
I was using a canon sx100 Digital point and shoot then moved to this T3i WOW what a difference. I am a Professional photographer that shoots a lot of outdoor / indoor events, having the live view and also having an articulating screen for shooting at raised arms length to get the shot is amazing. Often I must stand behind someone in the crowd and shoot over the top of them to get the shot I am looking for. What a difference having the articulating screen makes. In the first year of owning this camera I have taken well over 20,000 pictures. I go into Mexico on roads most would call a wagon trail rough bumpy dusty my camera bag has been tossed around in the back of a vehicle getting to the shoot. I have been in very dusty hot conditions. This camera is still going. After two plus years my camera still looks new it does not show any signs of wear.Canon says operating temp for this camera is 104 degrees my camera has been locked in a vehicle for security reasons with outside temps soaring 110+ inside car is scorching. Other times I have had camera in the cold for hours well below -15 F It works in all and any condition I throw at it. Battery life is very good for me as I shoot about 500-600 a weekend on 1 battery 1 charge.Between 550-600pics I must change to my second battery. I shoot the highest jpeg file that the T3i has which is just under the raw setting so my files have a lot of info and this camera gives me the best performance. The only thing bad is if I forget to recharge the battery that is why I care two battery with me at all times. Due to lots of night and low light photography I use the canon 430 II flash. Can not say enough on how great this product is. This is a great beginners camera to a Pro looking for a lighter camera. the LCD screen is hard to see in direct sun light that is the only flaw I have seen in all the time I have owned and used this camera.

Great step-up from my XTI which I gave to my brother with 2 Canon Lenses, the 18-55IS and a 28-135IS lens. Bought an after market Battery Grip and have two batteries in it, plus 6 AA Batteries in the spare carrier. Stills are amazing up from 10.6 Megapixils. I also wanted to use my existing lenses so I did not go full sized sensor. Also did not want to spend 2X to get a T4i as the T3i is really awsome. As a Lifetime Canon Shooter (going back to the AE1) I really like how this series of cameras is going!

Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Solid Operation, easy to use
I have had my T3i for a year now. It has yet to fail me. I recently purchased a 70-300 is usm lens. I took the camera to the Nashville Predators hockey game a few weeks ago with my new lens. Did not use the flash, handheld and the photos are stunning. Even when shown on a 50" plasma they are incredible. I very seldom use the lcd except to review photos so my battery life is superb. I have friends that are amazed at the quality. I gave a black and white photo enlarged to 30"x40" of an old barn to a friend of mine and he was amazed there was no pixilation. Truly amazing tool when you take the time to learn all of its features.

Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation
I upgraded from my first DSLR, Canon T3. You may think they are the same cameras but they are more different than you know. Better sensor and more megapixels. better build, better SD card placement, better LCD and screen that can tilt and not to mention that the image quality is better. As far as the movie mode I can't speak on this cause its not a camcorder in my eyes not that it can't do it, Just that i didn't buy this to take movies. But would recommend this to anyone looking for a solid DSLR and know that this product will out last the period you will own it.

The only problem this camera has is white balance performance in low light that is artificial. It tends to favor orange reddish tones.

I've had this camera for 3 months. I absolutely do not regret my purchase. The T3i was very easy to set up right out of the box. My dad cannot believe half the shots that I get with this camera. He's blown away with every shoot I do.

This is an amazing camera. I have owned a Canon Digital Rebel for 7 years and got this one, it is awesome. I am a pro now! It is amazing the quality that comes from this camera, I have no professional experience, but this makes me look like a pro, and I am impressed with how this camera knows exactly what do do, and the conditions by detection to shoot. I would recommend it to any parent! I want to take photos everywhere I go now!

This is my first Digital DSLR camera. I am very satisfied with the performance of the camera. I have two Canon Lenses, the 17-40mm f/4 L and the Canon 50mm f/1.8 II. Both are a great combination with the camera and perform great. I take this camera to almost everywhere, from a camping trip to a beach trip.
If you are looking for a great beginners camera for a great price. This would is a very good option.

This is my first DLSR and it can seem very overwelming to understand everything that it does. Dont worry there is alot of You Tube videos on how to use it and what everything means. If this is your first DSLR at first your going to think OMG but just take your time with it. There is no way you will figure it out in couple hours. It will take you months. ::)) That is the fun of too. The OS software if very easy to understand once it is explained to you. This new display Looks very very nice. Have Fun with the number 1 rated camera out there today for 2012.

I use this camera mainly for video. It appealed to me because of its price, high ISO and full HD video. I will be using this camera until college (I'm in high-school). The next level up from this is a professional video camera. Definitely recommend this buy!

Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Short battery life, poor quality
This camera worked wonderfully, taking great pictures and outstanding video, until it broke after 8 uses. Quality of the product is below par, having lasted less than 5 months (400 -600 pictures)
Battery life is a little poor, when shooting video, but a spare battery will overcome this shortfall and is a great accessory.

Cons: Missing features/settings, very slow automatic focusing
This is my 3rd EOS.
The automatic focus has to search way too long.
The 18-55 Is Lens is made cheaply, and is slow in focusing.
The weight is fine, the features are limited, bottom line both lenses included in the package are pedestrian at best.
Image quality is good, but focusing lag is annoying.
