Still a good camera
Date: January 25, 2010
Pros: durable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, add-on adapters possible
Cons: Dim LCD, Poor Low-Light Performance, Short battery life, Heavy/Bulky
Have used for 7 years. Added accessories: filter adapter; filters; zoom/wide angle lenses (adapters); external flash; external power. Other people will 1) laugh at 2 mp today and 2) recommend NOT putting any more money into this old camera. Truth is, it keeps ticking, isn't as valuable ($) today, and is versatile (manual mode and program mode). Add the filters (circ. polarizer) and takes better photos. Put a zoom adapter on it (found that nothing higher than about 2.5x, otherwise will cause tunnel effect), and have 2 mp photo quality from longer distance. Put a wide angle on it (0.45x does not tunnel effect) for great landscape photos. The add-on lenses/filters sometimes block the native flash (unless using camera zoom) so an external helps, but can be too bright (working on that now!). Native macro program works, but add-on "filters" do better (+2 and +4). Don't bother with those 37mm adapters for this camera, get the 52 mm (Canon or otherwise). I have used the stitching some, but do not remember how well it worked. Low-light performance is troublesome: focusing and grainy. It does have slow flash recovery and dim display in daylight (a strap-on shield helps but gets in way of carrying camera). The thing runs well on external power (do not charge batteries in it) but limits its use (tethered). Works well with tripod (meaning, probably when it makes sense to use the external power). Works perfectly under Linux (Ubuntu) with digiKam. Motion pictures are MJPEG format but saved as AVI (convert to traditional AVI format and/or FLV format for portable video players; I use avidemux). The included software works great for Winfows; get the ZoomBrowser updates. In short, if you don't want to bang around a more expensive camera, but want some additional versatility, this camera will do the job, although not as easily -- this isn't an SLR after all.

Great Buy
Date: December 7, 2009
Pros: durable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Short battery life, Heavy/Bulky
It has lasted 8 years and still works great. This is a very durable. I bought this camera when it was the top of the line. I have dropped it and it has had a rough life, but it still works great. It is very easy to use.

Best for size and money
Date: July 24, 2009
Pros: easy to use, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable
Cons: Poor Low-Light Performance, long delay time between photos
This is a great little camera. Good photos with easy to operate functions. Good body, can take an impact, (have dropped on hard surface). Adult and kid friendly. Easy to hold steady for that just right shot. I do hate the delay time between photos! Overall Great camera.

Durable quality camera
Date: February 12, 2009
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, good battery life, durable
Cons: Poor Low-Light Performance
I have owned this camera for five years, taken thousands of pictures, and never had a problem with it. Battery life is excellent with alkaline AA batteries, especially if the LCD screen is turned off. Picture quality is as good as one could expect with only 2 megapixels. The only problem is with some lines and noise in dimly lit photos using ISO 400. Focus, color and exposure are always spot on. I recently have used it to copy a collection of over 2000 slides with excellent results. I can take over 600 shots with the LCD on using rechargeable Duracell batteries. The LCD is small compared to today's standards but still bright enough.
First shot delay and next shot delay are rather long, and the viewfinder, although very handy, shows only about 80% of what is actually photographed. However, for a camera five years old which was a bargain when I bought it, it is great. Although I now have a new camera, I don't plan to give this one up!

Great camera for the price!
Date: December 21, 2008
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, good battery life, durable
Cons: Dim LCD, Heavy/Bulky
Had the camera for at least 5 years now. Although we have recently replaced it with a new high resolution camera, I still take this one camping or on the road. It still functions flawlessly and takes good pictures. Features like the wide angle and integrated photo stitching is great for those wide shots.
