Cons: ink cost
Purchased new in 2004. Has been coast-to-coast without any issues. Withstands the abuse of the airlines. Easy to set-up and use. Last used in 2006. Plugged in, installed software on laptop and it worked just like new. Very satisfied with its performance and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a small color printer to travel with.

I've had this printer for 4 years and it's an indestructible workhorse. It's been around the world; in extreme heat/cold conditions; banged around in luggage; dropped; and it's even had a few run-ins with coffee splashes - and it never fails! Totally reliable and it can print out good quality photos as well as draft documents. A less expensive printer would have never withstood the abuse - so this printer is well worth the $$.

Cons: High Ink Consumption
I've had this printer for 3 years. It is extremely fast and the quality is superior to any other portable on the market. I used it in my business daily. I was hesitant to buy it because the price was higher than I wanted to pay, but it is well worth the money. It is very light and great for traveling. The top closes and encases the printer in a firm, very flat shape. The print cartridges are small and have to be changed often (if you print frequently), but they come two in a pack and are priced reasonably compared to other brands.

I use only Canon products for my every need; they are simply the best on the market. The ip90 is no different:
It is portable, compact, well designed and the print quality is outstanding. I print photos using this printer as well; they are phenomenal!
This is a supreme product and I recommend it anyone who may be looking at printers...It would be well worth your time to look into it.

I have owned this printer for at least 5 years and it still works. About a year ago, I left my power chord at a convention site and have not been able to use the printer during that time. I just ordered a replacement chord from canon. I did not expect the printer to work well after being inactive for such a long time. This printer started up immediately and printed like it was brand new out of the box. I did, however, replace the print cartridges. I really love this printer. It make me want the upgraded iP100 really bad! I highly recommend this high quality, reliable printer.

I love this little printer!. I can travel with it. It prints very fast and clean. I move it all around the house. I bought one for a friend who also loves it. I am about to give mine to my daughter who is going off to college so I will be buying another one soon. I hate to part with it but it is so trouble free I know it will be a good printer for her as well. I don't do that many photos but when I do the color and clarity is beautiful. The ink lasts quite a long time for as much as my family uses it. The kids have used it all year for schoolwork and it never has jammed or stuck. It's been the one purchase that I have made in the last 2 years that I am so happy with. There is nothing that I don't like about this printer.

I just needed to reinstall the driver & so came across an opportunity to review. We purchased the iP90 in 2006 to use in our little RV when on the road. Its color rivals our big printers at home. The printer sits for month at a time without use and is there ready and able when needed. Good with 6x4 as well as 11x8.5. Thrifty with ink. We hope it doesn't expire until we do.

I absolutely love this printer. I use it as a portable printer w/ my laptop. It is so small and compact I can just put it in the bag w/ my laptop and go. The quality is just as good as any desktop printer. LOVE IT!!!

I have owned this printer for a year now and while it's print quality is good it always has some issue. Whether it needs the print heads cleaned or a driver reinstalled it never performs as expected.
If you are considering a small, compact printer consider purchasing something else.

I have purchased and used practically every Canon portable they have marketed. I use them for business at home; in the office for printing off the company network; on the road and in hotel rooms and makeshift offices. I use them up printing contracts and buy another. They've paid for themselves and make no sense to repair; I just buy another trade up. There are some small idiosyncrasies but these printers are a compromise; not high production machines. Only occasionally used for photo printing but came through when called on for that. Great for the purpose they are intended, "portable", and “convenient".

I was looking for a printer that was portable, printed great photos, and didn't cost a fortune to replace the ink cartridges. The Canon iP90 is perfect for this!
In addition to printing photos, I also use this printer for every day document print-outs. Works like a charm!
