I've been using this scanner for about 4 years now. I don't give it heavy use, but it always works well when I need it. Never had a problem with either the hardware or software. I love the PDF option in the software. Great value. Just another terrific Canon product.

Pros: add a pro
I have had 2 CanoScan LIDE series;the first one was a LIDE50 that was stolen along with the computer and the second one is the LIDE60 scanners. That has replaced it and that was (5) years ago. For the price of the scanners, the service and usability is excellent. Both very versatile and very portable. Have used both in field and office and on occasions, have used both of the scanners on the top of the truck hood for a makeshift desk. I would, highly recommend the Canon CanoScan LIDE series.

Pros: High resolution, High-speed scanning, easy to use
This scanner was easy to use, affordable, and portable. It is excellent for the first time scanner. However, the software could be left out and plug and play in the future would be a better way to go.

Pros: Compact Design, durable, High resolution, High-speed scanning, easy to use, usb-powered
Cons: scanner bed is just over letter-size
I love this scanner. I had one in college for a while, lost it in a move and got another one. I do a lot of graphic and web design and this scanner is awesome. It's small, lightweight and portable. I can fit it in my laptop bag. It's usb-powered so there's only one cable needed. It scans quickly and with a good quality. The Canon software and plugins are good. It integrates with Photoshop (if you're on photoshop CS4 for mac you'll need to download the TWAIN plugin from Adobe as well as the canon drivers). Overall a great scanner as long as you don't need to scan huge images (which hasn't ever been an issue for me.

Pros: Compact Design, durable, easy to use, High-speed scanning, Fast Connectivity, High resolution
I have had mine for several years. I am a realtor. I carry it in my case with my laptop. I am not easy with either.
I like the fact that it runs on my laptop power and only uses one cable. I get clean clear copies. I have no software problems with mine. I just switched to an Apple puter and am looking for a driver for it to run my Cano Scan. I happened across this page. VERY Durable.

Cons: don't bundle software for purchase
Lots of Canon purchases. Not happy with this scanner. Keeps loosing driver, or fails to open with driver. Continually have to download. Using iBook with latest OSX. Bundled sampled software keeps showing up with downloads. I don't want to purchase, and don't like the confusion with basic software. Very frustrated trying to use this thing. Have had to start from stratch with fresh install too many times.
