Pros: reliable, Compact Design, Easy Setup, durable, Low Ink Consumption, Lightweight/Portable, Sharp Tones & Colors, fast print speed, easy to use
I obtained this printer as a gift! This is a gift that I have used a lot. I simply love my gift! I wouldn't change it for something else. I travel with it because its so compact and lightweight.

Pros: reliable, Easy Setup, easy to use
Used the PIXMA IP1600 for 3 years now, and it's performed very nicely for home use and some photos (though the quality for the photos leaves something to be desired, still a nice value). Am happy to have the new 64bit driver for Windows 7 working.

Pros: Sharp Tones & Colors
Cons: Difficult to use, Slow Print Speed, unreliable, High Ink Consumption
What a FRUSTRATING piece of equipment. It constantly has to be reset, and you have to constantly delete old jobs; it keeps sending things to a queue that for some reason will not print. So I delete them all, ONE BY ONE (no way to delete a group at once) and then I STILL have to reset the printer. Don't buy one!

Thank you so much! I thought I was going to have to buy a new printer because of a lost installation disc. Your easy download was a blessing. Keep up the good work.

Pros: durable, Easy Setup, easy to use, fast print speed, reliable
I bought this printer as I needed a cheap replacement when my printer died. 4 years later it still is a very reliable printer. I have used it with Windows 2000, XP and 7. Print quality, including photos have been excellent. It uses one color ink cartridge so I don't buy into it being a heavy/expensive ink user. I have used all types of paper, card stock and cd/dvd labels with no issues. One issue is that it does not print envelopes well (jams and smudges). I just bought an all-in-one printer but I will be hanging on to my iP1600.

THE IP1600 PRINTER PRODUCES OUTSTANDING PRINTS, BOTH PHOTOS AND INTERNET PICTURES.
THE ONLY CAVEAT IS THE SMALL-VOLUME OF THE INK TANKS....WOULD LIKE TO SEE A LARGER CAPACITY.

Pros: Compact Design, Lightweight/Portable, Easy Setup, easy to use, fast print speed
Cons: no paper tray
This is a wonderful printer and the only setback is the fact there was no paper tray included. Many times I have to set an object (i.e. sturdy paper folder) underneath it to catch paper that comes out after printing. It's not perfect and many times I'm left collecting paper that ends up on the floor when printing several pages.
The quality is perfect, but the only flaw is no paper tray to collect printed pages.

Well it took me forever to finally get it figured out, but I finally figured out how to print with just the black ink cartridge. The instructions on the site should be a little more clear. You have to push the button that is flashing on the bottom after resetting configurations, and then I opened it up and shut it, and BAM!! It worked!!! It only took me about 2 hours, but finally figured it out. Make sure to have plain paper selected for Media Type, Gray scale checked, and under PAGE SETUP do not have borderless or duplex printing checked.
