I have used Cannon products including cameras for the past 15 years. I purchased the A630 in Dec. 2007 and began having battery problems immediately. After I realized the camera was the problem it was out of the 1 year warranty. Now it isn't working at all. This was my 2nd Cannon digital camera purchase. I was completely dissatisfied with the product and don't intend to use Cannon products any longer.

Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
This is the second Canon I have owned and I am a very happy Canon owner. I had a A560 that had made me very happy. It finally took its last lick when my 9 y/o accidentally kicked it straight to the concrete with the lens out after I took his picture while sitting on a fence. I actually cried after that!!! That camera was so easy to use and simply took amazing quality pictures. I find the A630 to be every bit my A560 was. Thank you Canon for making an affordable, quality camera!!!

Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable
Cons: need a class on proper manual settings
Love the camera but I need as class to use the manual settings. The book that comes with it does not do a very good job for the amateur camera enthusiast.

Cons: flash
Ive had this camera for about two years now, and after about a year and half the flash will not work, the only way i get it to work is if i bang it on something.. hard, which made my camera look terrible, but overall the pictures look amazing, but the flash is the only problem I have had.

Cons: Short battery life
I have owned Canon Came rs all my life. This is the first time to complain. The batteries on this camera the barrettes don't last long. When it was new I sent it back to Canon and they fixed it. It worked for a while. They were great about taking care of the problems. I guess they have an engineering problem with this one. My Granddaughter has a Cannon with one battery it last 10 times as long as mine and it has 4 batteries Thanks for letting me get this off my mind. I'm 65 just wanted you to know I'm not new to buying

Pros: Nice features/settings
Cons: Flimsy Construction
Like others on this site, I have to say that quality is an issue. The camera has great features, especially the flip-out screen, but on mine the flash just died after 2 years. Long enough to be out of warranty, but hardly what one should expect of a decent camera.

Pros: good battery life, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Heavy/Bulky, poor flash construction
Great camera, but has an unreliable flash. The first two years we had it, it was great, but the flash doesn't always work (I always leave it in auto setting). I try playing with the flash button and it doesn't help, so I have to go to the menu under tools and hit reset all, but that doesn't always work. I have read other reviews on other websites and this seems to be a common problem. Other than this problem it has been great. However it is a big problem, especially when it quits working all of a sudden over the holidays :(

I have had the camera for 4 years and it has performed nicely. However, the autofocus just quit working for me. I expect a camera to last longer than this.
I have had this camera for over 4 years now, and I can't get away from it. I love it so much. The only complaint I really have is that my flash works when it wants to anymore, but I think that comes with age bc it has only been acting up within the past 6 months or so. I have been thinking about upgrading to a new camera but I LOVE the flip out and in screen so I will not be buying a new camera unless I can find another one with the flip screen!

i get compliments on this camera everywhere i go about how nice it looks and how well it takes pictures. i love everything about this camers. I got it for my Birthday and I am very pleased with it. The price was a fair price to pay for the quility of the camera which is great. I like the way the LCD view finder flips open and turns. It doesnt get scratched that way because you flip it shut and the LCD lends is protected. i would buy another one if this one stops working. i hve had it for almost 3 years. Your pictures look like a professional took them.

Pros: easy to use, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable
I don't understand those who say its got a bright LCD, or excellent image quality or thats its good in low light performance. These people must use it in the auto mode. Yes its easy to use, but its a point & shoot its supposed to be easy to use Its ok if you never want to learn to get the most of a camera. The controls menu is average at best. I can't begin to tell you how many shots were lost because I had to fumble with the controls which are not that accessable especially in low light!! My guess is if you leave it auto mode you'll get a picture, if thats all you want this camera is for you. As for me I give it an average rating no better or worse.!! This after 3 years of use.

I have owned the A630 for over 2 years and I can honestly say "I Love It". Back in the days of film cameras I owned Canon Elans. Great film cameras. I loved to tweek every little aspect of taking a picture. You can have a lot of manual control with the A630 but I have become a bit lazy and started to use the automatic shooting modes more often. I might ad "with great results". An all around great camera!

Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Lightweight/Portable, durable
Cons: flash quit after about 2 1/2 years, flash batt should be accessible as other models
This is my second PowerShot, 1st being an A300. I have 3rd, A580, waiting to be used for Bear Camp by my husband. This camera has taken the abuse of my 9 grandchildren along with taken many photos of my 9, soon to be 10 grandchildren. I'm bummed because the flash just stopped working in the last month. On the A580 and A300 the flash battery was accessible, on this one it's not. Since I'd have to send it to Chicago for repairs I might take a peek inside - what am I gonna loose? since I have a replacement waiting in the wings.
I love the flip out screen because I can take some 'sly' photos of shy people.

Pros: easy to use, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable
Cons: not a great digital zoom optical zoom's good
Great camera for those who are between the point/shoot cameras and DSLR ones. I love the automatic features as well as the full manual ones. I use the full manual mainly for low light or other effects (objects in motion blur, etc.). I have taken great pics with this and received many compliments. Most can't believe I'm NOT using a DSLR camera.
The only thing that's a little weak is the digital zoom. The optical zoom is fine up to 6.4X (I think) and as soon as it goes into digital zoom, yeah, you're not going to get very sharp pictures (if you're trying to zoom in on a bird or squirrel or something like that).
All in all, a great camera. Wish it was black.

Cons: blurred picturea wtih aoom
I love everything about this camera, its ease of operation and good, clear pictures. I do have a hard time taking clear pictures when I zoom, in spite of holding the camera a still as possible, I lose many a shot with them being blurred.
