Cons: cost of inks, not user friendly, software issues, will not print correct size image
We have owned 2 ipf6100 large format printers. We bought a second one because of all we had invested in the first one but will never buy another. As far a large format 24" wide printers go it was the best value for the money but you get what you pay for. Printer is very difficult to use, especially if feeding individual sheets. There are no instructions on how to select the right medium, the printer never prints the size selected (always smaller than selection, i.e. 16 x 20 comes out 15 x 19), this results is a huge amount of waste in trying to get the size right, and it happens with every size selected. The printer always goes thru a cleaning cycle if it sits for more than a day resulting in costly wasted ink. When manually feeding paper you can only feed 1 sheet at a time. Ink carts are unjustifiably expensive and it takes 12 carts. The only good thing about the printer is that the quality of the prints are exceptional, if you can match the right media type. Canon does not seem to have any online support in helping customers solve these issues. Even though you may save some money buying one of these when compared to competitor models, it is not worth the hassle

Pros: High Quality Output, High Productivity, Low Running Cost, Good Media Handling, Small Footprint, durable, Easy Setup, easy to use, reliable, low maintenance
I have used the iPF5100 and the iPF6100 for over a year now. These two printers consistently out put some of my best works. The color saturation is unbelievable and the black and white prints are the best I have seen with any printer. I have total control of full tonal quality of my black and whites. What I like most about these two printers are the fact that they do not require any maintenance; except for a few free software updates once a while. Oh, yes, I do have to dust them off from time to time. I highly recommend this imagePrograf printers for anyone who wants to print big.

After a year and a half it's still amazing. This replaced an Epson 4800 and the ink savings alone have paid for it. I'll print 100 8x10's at once without a hitch and my 24x32 prints in prophoto colour space look stunning. I do a lot of architectural prints and my clients are simply blown away. Best printer I ever purchased.

What a value! The quality and color saturation have to be seen. Black & White output is beyond description. The use of gray ink with blacks produce beautiful results with no color shifts common on other printers.
