I was given this camera as a gift a few months ago. It took a little patience to understand how to use it, but what a camera! The zoom is amazing. I was able to zoom in on my son during his graduation while sitting in stadium seating. I could see his facial expressions at 50 yards away. Sweet.

Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Great sound/audio, excellent image quality, durable
I was lucky to get this as a birthday present for my 42nd. We used it recently at a concert and it did okay. Battery life is wonderful. It is a little bulky but that is okay. I'm just going to buy a tripod for it. It picked up the sound of our fiddle group very well.
I wish it saved to different video formats than VCD. Means I have to get conversion software so I can upload videos to sites. The dvd save feature is nice.
My only drawback is it takes a little bit to get used to how to work this thing and it's features. It's not very user friendly for people without computer or camera background. Once you figure it out it's pretty easy to use. VCD is the biggest fail on this entire camera.
Either way I'm glad to have it.

OK.... This is a nice camcorder but it has to fit your application. This camera will not upload to your computer for youtube or let you send a video as through your email. Thats the issue with it so to me for my application it is useless.

Pros: Easy Computer Connectivity, good battery life
Cons: Poor Low-Light Performance, no transistions between videos
I really like being able to transfer from camera to the computer using a DVD. This is much better than USB plugs, etc. I use DVD Shrink to keep backups of all the discs. Good for keeping memories of the kids growing up -- unedited!
The editing features are a little lean. It would be nice to have a choice of transistions between videos clips. Also, the unit is sometimes a little slow to start going.
I still have trouble getting nice indoor videos. They always tend to be a little dark.

Pros: Compact Design, excellent image quality, Easy TV Connectivity, Easy Computer Connectivity, Great sound/audio, easy to use
The zoom button when released makes snapping sounds that get recoreded.. I remedy that problem by stuffing small pieces of foam until snapping noise was eliminated. The record button switch is too sensitive that it could easily switch to pause mode accidentally and the indicator icon on the upper right hand corner is so easiy missed and remain unnotice that it have stopped recordding , it should be displayed maybe in the center of the screen so that you will never miss it. This has happened to me a few times and missed some important moments I like the mini dvd medium for ease of play back on the dvd player. Also the feature where it allows you to delete scenes when recorded in VR mode and using a R/W disk.
