Pros: Good Low-Light Performance, Accurate, Vivid Colors, Compact Design, excellent image quality, durable, Good Software Compatibility, Ergonomic/comfortable to hold, easy to use
Cons: Poor sound/audio
This is one of the best starter cams i've seen at this price before, sound is the only thing that can really use an improvement, but if you're gonna use the cam for any type of semi pro video or to learn how to shoot, you will need a shotgun mic anyway, also, the fact that it has a Mic jack makes a huge difference on what you can or can't do.

Pros: Compact Design, Easy TV Connectivity, Easy Computer Connectivity, Accurate, Vivid Colors, good battery life, Great sound/audio, Ergonomic/comfortable to hold, durable, easy to use, Good Software Compatibility, Good Low-Light Performance, price, zoom distance
Cons: still quality poor
I purchased this unit as a backup for my higher priced equipment and it has become my primary. I am responsible for the collection of information on many different types of people for divorce, civil law suits, etc... and this camera is a must have. The video is always great, even using the zoom at its greatest distance. The stills that the dc 410 captures are NOT of the greatest quality, but this is a VIDEO camera. The features are easy to learn and use, but the drawbacks are that you can only capture 20 min. of video per disk. I would buy this again for more money.

Pros: Compact Design, Ergonomic/comfortable to hold, easy to use
Cons: records blank frames on batteries
I find this to be a great starter camcorder. It's easy to use, yet it has enough manual features to learn about basic video photography. The zoom is smooth, but the autofocus is a little slow. The only con is that when it is run on the included battery, every so often it throws in blank frames that cause the videos to "stutter" even when the blanks are edited out. The blank frames do not appear in videos taken using AC power. I can only guess that these frames appear when the camera writes to disk. Otherwise I am satisfied with this camcorder.

Just got this camera for simple little home videos and I can't believe the luxury for the price! The joystick is a very neat and easy way to edit your preferences etc....seems to zoom very smoothly also-I absolutely love min!
