Cons: Slow Print Speed, Difficult Setup, Flimsy Construction
I was excited to purchase my Canon printer, however, was disappointed with the speed. It is good for other features such as, scanning and faxing...but speed and quality were very important for me. I am not sure if its Canon that has a slow product or that I purchased a slow printer. Another point is that the ink runs out fast. It's disappointing to be nervous each time I print using my Wi-Fi connection, not knowing if there's ink in the cartdridges or not.

Pros: none
Cons: Slow Print Speed, Difficult Setup, Low Quality Output, unreliable, color cast on photos
Newest of Canon printers we've had but not the best. Had for over 1 year and frustrated. Color prints, mostly indoor or in the shade photos, have orange cast and come out underexposed even when using Canon camera, paper and ink. Scanner tends to slighly crop documents, most noticable on forms where printed material may go very close to document edge. Sucks up ink like crazy...suspect over cleaning of print heads. Can't mix wireless and wired; have to configure for one or the other. Duplex printing has been nice as well as document feeder.

Pros: High Quality Output
Cons: Large Footprint
This printer works great when it is working. I use this printer for the occasional paper for school and powerpoints. It scans fast and integrates well with Mac OSX. I do not print color often and use mainly black and white printing 99% of the time. But After using it, I am finding that when you run out of any color cartridge, you cannot print ANY document. Even if I am printing a word document and telling the settings only to use greyscale printing. This printer NEEDS to have all the cartridges full in order to print black and white, and thats why I gave this a 1-star for satisfaction

Pros: reliable, Easy Setup, fast print speed
Cons: bad support site, consumes a lot of ink
It's a great printer. However, when you upgrade to a new PC under a new O/S, the download procedure on the website doesn't allow you to select the whole set of software for the printer, only one piece at a time. This is bad enough, then it forces you to re-ID the printer model each time.

This printer uses 5 ink cartridges. Two of them are black and both are different sizes. The 225 cartridge is half the size of the 226. Canon set the printer to draw black ink from the smaller cartridge first so it runs out faster than if the printer defaulted to the larger black cartridge. Additionally, when the black 226 runs out you can't print ANYTHING in any color even though the larger 225 cartridge is full of black ink. Extraordinarily frustrating! Most printers will draw from whatever cartridge that has ink in it, even if it then prints in all yellow, for instance. I much prefer that than getting a completely blank page, especially when all of the other inks are full and there's a black one it could draw from if only Canon had built it to do so!

Pros: reliable
Cons: uses too much ink
This printer is good with many features and reliable service, but has it's issues. First, it is slow specially the first time you use it after letting it sit idle for a day or so. It also blows through (expensive) ink very quickly. I like, and use the LAN connection which allows several compunters to use the same printer. The picture quality is nice, but could be better. The scanner is nice, but could be faster with better features.

Pros: High Quality Output, fast print speed
Cons: Difficult to use, Large Footprint, Difficult Setup, unreliable
No issues with the quality or speed, when I can get it to work. It only reliably prints from devices (PC/Mac) if they have a wired connection to the network. All other devices that have a wireless connection to the network either work intermittently or not at all. I've tried troubleshooting this for months with no success.

Pros: reliable, Small Footprint, High Quality Output, love duplex printing
Cons: High Ink Consumption, no update for iphone/ipad doc printing, wireless printing unstable
While the printer has great quality in its output, the scanning, fax and copy features also work nicely. A bit complicated to setup. Originally setup using wireless, but then wireless stopped working without any other changes on my pc. Had to reconfigure via USB so now can't use wireless. It would be nice to be able to use both at the same time. It uses WAY TOO MUCH ink! I have used 10 main black tanks, about 6 each of the cyan/magenta/yellow and 3 of the small black, even tho most of my printing is black and white documents and I have rarely printed any pictures. Too many ink cleaning cycles, even while in process of printing. Printing cost much higher compared to my old PIXMA 4000. Disappointed that there has been no update to allow me to print from my smartphone or tablet.

Pros: High Quality Output
I bought the MX882 to replace the MP530 I had. I wanted something that would support printing from iPhone and iPad. I looked at the box and it seemed to indicate that it would, but after purchasing I found it would only print pictures via a Canon app. My bad for not reading the fine print. Anyhow, I was eventually able to get it to work by downloading the freeware AirPrintActivator. I subsequently learned they provided a firmware update to add full AirPrint support to the MX884, but not the MX882 - and the MX882 is still listed for sale on the Canon website. I'm a little hacked about this.
Another thing that annoys me is that it consumes a fair amount of color ink when I only print in B&W or greyscale. I don't print much (a few pages per week), but it sure seems to go through the ink! I guess its going through a cleaning cycle because I print so infrequently.
One thing I miss from the MP530 is the paper feed select button. One now has to go through a series of menus to switch between the bottom tray and the rear feed.
Aside from the above negatives the output quality is good.

Pros: reliable, Easy Setup, durable, High Quality Output, fast print speed, easy to use
This printer has gotten me through grad school! It is versatile, easy to maintain, compatible with my wireless network so I can print from laptop, desktop or phone and usually quite fast. The set-up was easy, it is very durable considering what I have put it through and easy to use. For the price you can't beat it.

Pros: reliable, Easy Setup, durable, High Quality Output, fast print speed, easy to use
I love my Canon PIXMA M882 printer. It delivers letter quality text documents and beautiful photo prints at a very reasonable speed. It is a bit bulky and heavy but I guess that is to be expected with all the functionality this printer provides.
I was impressed with it's ability to make either single or double sided copies from either single or double sided originals by simply entering your selection from the control panel. When printing from a computer you can specify number of copies, single or double sided printing, color or black and white, adjust margins and add or delete headers and footers directly from the print menu.
This printer has the ability to print from a Wi-Fi network, wired network, USB cable, USB Flash Drive, Photo Memory Card, directly from a camera via USB cable, and Pictbridge.
Also nice is that it has two black ink cartridges, one for text printing and one for photo printing, so you do not have to use expensive photo ink for plain text printing.

Pros: reliable, Easy Setup, Small Footprint, fast print speed, good value
Cons: no airpint, uses ink quickly
Great printer. Good quality, nice functions. Ink goes relatively quickly, but the cost of the ink isn't too terrible. Nice footprint for the features it supports.
I'd give it a 5 if it supported airprint and the ability to scan and send to an email address directly.

Cons: Difficult to use
Good feature set as advertised - however some are difficult to use or incomplete. I hoped the advanced UI will have the option of getting firmware updates that corrects/evolves the rough around the edge advanced features. There has been no update since I bought the printer a year ago. The following areas need improvement:
1.) The UI dialogs are not designed to be user friendly or productive and fast. There should be templates of profiles for specific scanning tasks for example. Why would the scan to USB available when there's no USB drive plugged in?
2.) The SMB file sharing should allow access all storage - including USB. And it should be read/write/delete, not just read only as it is today.
3.) Duplex scan should work on irregular size paper.
4.) ADF scan in 600dpi is very slow on the first page, drops to 300dpi on the second page and on. It's a defect.

Pros: Easy Setup, High Quality Output, easy to use, two sided scan, two sided print
Cons: Large Footprint
As a guy with no home phone I have never tried using it as a fax machine but that is an outdated technology anyway. It was very easy to setup. Ran just as fast on wifi as my prior printer/scanner did when connected via USB. I had upgraded from an older model and I was happy to see the scanner software was updated to fix the biggest things that had bothered me for the 5 years I used a prior model. The biggest improvement to me was the ability to scan 8.5x13 documents from the document feeder which was not possible with my prior model. It may not be the smallest all in one but keep in mind it does have the ability to function in full duplex in both scan and print unlike most cheaper and smaller models out there.
I did have some network trouble with it after lightning fried my modern router and I had to go back to an old Linksys WRT54G v1 router but that was a temporary problem not related to the printer itself.

Cons: small paper tray
I totally love this Canon MX882. It prints beautiful plain prints, bright colorful photographs, scans to email, faxes, copies... it just does absolutely anything you could want in a small home office setting. And, at a small footprint too. I am very picky on quality, and Canon has always been right on for me. The only thing I am not crazy about is that I would like a sturdier paper drawer. It doesn't hold too much. However, this is a minor inconvenience compared to all that it does.

Cons: Difficult to use, Large Footprint, Difficult Setup, small ink tanks, uses too much ink
Overall, this is a good printer for the price. General wired setup was easy, but I haven't been able to get wireless to work properly. I'm sure this isn't the only printer to suffer from poor instructions either. Printer manufacturers must be letting the new intern write the manuals. Can't even download a pdf manual, it's an exe that installs on your system. Lame. Goes thru ink like no other. Small ink tanks and I think it's self cleaning process consumes way more ink than I actually use to print! Lucky for me I only use this printer lightly when needed and for scanning. Color ink tanks were consumed just as fast as black, even though I almost never print in color.
