Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Superior build quality
Cons: Heavy/Bulky
First off I have been into the art photography since I was child I started shooting on my grandmothers Canon A1 and worked my way up to a 1D mark III and then to my recent purchase of my 1D-X It amazies me on how technology advances and how great that technology and art can be combined into this amazing DSLR. I go from shooting public events and weddings to even underwater photography in the reefs of the Florida Keys and the 1D-X is my go to DSLR its ability to since the perfect section colors to match all most to what my eyes perceives, is what makes so incredible to use. Here is my advice to you, see I was considering buying the 5D Mark III but I thought I would rather spend the extra money and go with 1D-X because I new I would had the best there is to offer in Pro DSLR it was one of the best purchases I ever made in my life the 1D-X will never let me down and I tell everyone that asks if you want consider you self the best then you will need the best equipment there is to offer and the 1D-X is that.

I am a professional and have been using Canon products for 30+ years and I have found this 1DX to be superior in every way that I have used it so far. I photograph wildlife and need that speed, plus the advantages of the ISO range with out noise is out of this world. I own 2 1Ds mark III's, and I plan on getting at least 2 more of the 1DX's. Only regret is that I didn't get the 1DX sooner.

This camera works very well and the pictures that I take with it are very precise and not pixelated. The camera, although is sort-of bulky and heavier than other Canon cameras I have used.

Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: a little bulky but that is ok.
Purchased this camera about 2 months ago. Took it to the Bahamas. Shot photos at 4:30 in the morning and the ISO did such a great job photos came out looking like it was in the middle of the day.
As far as action shooting it surpassed what I thought the camera would do. Crystal clear photos and has allowed me to finally get the shots I have been looking for. Used to use the EOS 50D and upgraded to this camera and will regret spending the money. Only downside is no auto for those of you who are used to using the auto option. Myself I don't use auto. If you want to get serious about shooting this camera will make you learn to shoot in manual. The controls are great as far as adjusting shots on the fly. The change of the controls allow for this to be done very quickly with minimal time. Love being able to turn camera sideways and shoot with shutter button in same spot as tho I was shooting horizontally.

Cons: Heavy/Bulky
I have had a few months to learn this camera. I find that it is the very best Canon Professional Camera to date. The build and image quality is superb. The menu system is failry simple, but one may need some practice to use it fast and confidently. This is my third Canon camera and my second digital Canon camera. The only issues with the camera, which I deem negligble are its weight, cannot access highlight and shadow information at the same time, and a bit noisy when using video.
Also, I wish it were completely compatible with the earlier 1.4 and 2.0 extenders. Especially, when they are used with the earlier 200mm and 400mm 2.8 L lenses . This is the best digital camera, I have ever used.

Cons: shutter sound is loud
The day I received my 1DX I had to cover a volleyball game for the local paper. I had just enough time to charge 1 battery and head out the door. That evening I considered sending it back, I was sick, all my shots were back focused or totaly blurry. After reading over the manual and working with the camera (not under deadline) i have fallen in love with the beast. It took several weeks to figure out all the bells and wistles and there are still more to master. The new firmware updates also helped the focus issues. For those who think it is heavey, all 1 series bodies are about the same weight. The images this camera makes are so much better than any other camera body I was using before. The usable ISO range is also a big help, I can shoot in dark arenas at 25,000 ISO and get images that are as good as 1600 ISO from my 1DMK2N. This is the camera I was hoping Canon would build and they finaly did.

I have owned the canon 40D, 50D and 7D cameras and loved each one of them. When I removed the 1D X out of the box, I was surprised how large the camera actually was. It is a little on the heavy side, so be prepared. The first picture I took with the EOS 1D X took my breath away. The clarity and color was so superior to anything I had ever seen before from a camera. I knew at that moment, the 1D X was worth every penny it cost. This camera is truly an amazing work of art. Thank you Canon!

Cons: noisy, Difficult to use, Heavy/Bulky, Complicated controls/menu
I have only had this fine camera for a day, It does all thus far that I anticipated. Full frame, very fast and built like a tank.
It is in my modest opinion, 2 camera's in one. Hence the seemingly steep price. Action-sports, Lanscapes - portraits
and Ceremony type events.
Best advice, If new or even a veteran Canon photographer -
Read The User's Manual, then for good measure read a second time.

Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu, customizable controls
Cons: Heavy/Bulky
I got this camera body in time to shoot some great sporting events here in the Rockies including the U.S. Pro Cycling Challenge, the 45th annual Ruggerfest and the Motherlode Volleyball Classic. For me, the AI tracking is the "must have" for any sports photographer and the 1Dx is head and shoulders over anything I have used in the past. Now with the latest firmware update giving me red focus points on the viewing screen, low light shooting is even easier. Setting the custom settings took a few minutes and then it was shoot away! The burst rate made for some amazing captures as well as the super fast transfer rate to the memory card meant I was never waiting.
I like the slightly changed menus items and I found them very easy to navigate through. After reading up on setting and changing the AI functions, I found I could easily switch back and forth from with getting the burst off or the focus first. Great for shooting sports like rugby and hockey.
The low light capabilities are just great and shooting in the range of ISO 6,400 are well within reach and only need minor touchup for noise in post, if at all.
The rugged build gives me the usual confidence that I have with Canon's 1D models. I shoot in rain or shine, so this is a great feature.
All in all, a complete package for me!

Pros: Quick Start-up time, good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, usable images up to iso 12800, fast and responsive af in good light, longer battery life than 5dii, 12 fps very fast, two cf card slots, ability to control speedlites in the camera menu
Cons: heavy, af freezes, playback button freezes, ai servo slow in low light, off-center af points less sensitive in low light, af points are grayed out
I use the 1DX for weddings as a replacement for my 5DII.
Pros: The AF is responsive and fast in good light, and AI Servo tracks relentlessly. I can even use the 85/1.2 lens to track slow moving people, like the bride coming down the aisle. 12 fps is blazing fast. Images up to 12,800 ISO are usable with post processing noise cleanup, and the noise is like film grain. Two CF card slots are nice. The battery lasts an entire wedding over 1200 shots. Actually, I've shot 1700 frames and still not had the battery go out. Canon speedlites can now be controlled from the camera menu. I can actually use the speedlite built-in functions because they are simple to program.
Cons: It is heavy. I lift weights a few days before a wedding to strengthen my arms. The AF points are grayed out so it is difficult to place them on a high contrast area in the dark. For weddings this is a big deal. I sure hope they fix this. I am not talking about when AF locks on, but when I press the shutter halfway the AF would blink red on the 5DII and other 1D's just momentarily to let me know where it was. AF freezes about twice on a typical wedding session. Repeatedly pressing the shutter button or turning the camera power off is what awakens it. It is worst with the 70-200/2.8 IS II. For some reason, that lens is now difficult to focus in low light. With a 580EXII on the hotshoe and radio trigger plugged into the camera sync port, the playback button freezes about 2 out of 10 times. It will show the image for a fraction of a second, then go blank. Repeatedly pressing it causes the lens to hunt as though the shutter button is pressed halfway (even though it is not). Sometimes I have to turn the camera off to get the playback button to function properly. This seems to happen every time the couple wants to see an image on the back. AI Servo slows down quite a bit in low light. Combined with the 61-point automatic focus (where the camera selects the focus points), AI Servo becomes useless. Off-center AF points are less sensitive than the center AF in low light. They get less sensitive further away, with the edge AF points a full stop less sensitive. I exclusively use the center AF and recompose in churches and receptions for maximum AF speed.
Overall, this camera has great potential, but needs firmware updates to fix annoying issues. I was just as nitpicky when I purchased the 5DII and it worked flawlessly in 80+ weddings. The grayed out AF, freezing AF, and freezing playback button are my biggest gripes.

Cons: ai servo issue in low light
I have shot about 10 football games averaging 3,000 photos per game.
I have shot 4 soccor games averaging 3,000 - 4,000 pictures per game.
if the game is during the day in good light no issues, if the game is at nght the focus drifts off when i am following a player. it happens at the worst time because when a play happens that you really want you tend to rapid fire.
I use spot focus ISO 4000 lense 70-200 IS L II
the bottom line it i am losing alot of good shots because this keeps happening. at first i thought it was a scene i picked or user error. it is not.
what is worse is when the camera works it is amazing, but then you will have several key shots that are just out of focus.

Purchased a couple of these for sports....this camera in my opinion...easily qualifies as all the best cameras Canon® has made , all rolled into one. Ive always said they should have a full frame sports camera that is fast and can do all the things all the other models combined could do.
I no longer need my Mark II 5D's or Mark III 1D's and Mark IIns....I am totally sold 100% on this model.
I have been shooting College and professional Football the last three weeks of Sept 2012 with the 1DX and have literally not had one out of focus image...from well over 10,000 images! Just for fun, I photographed a High School football game and shot with a 600mm f4, at 32,000 ISO and was shooting 1/2000 with no noticeable noise at all.

Pros: Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation
Cons: Short battery life, Heavy/Bulky
The 1DX offers several improvements over its predecessors but is still far from perfect. The increase in speed and the advances in autofocus performance are the most remarkable aspects of this camera. Image quality is similar to the 1DsMark III but the high ISO performance did not meet my expectations after reading the promotional information. Weight and size are still somewhat problematic but the biggest disappointment is the battery performance compared to earlier iterations of the Canon professional series cameras. Previously, I never had to carry spare batteries when shooting with 600 or 800 mm IS lenses in cold weather, but the 1DX burns through a battery much faster than before. The build quality is top level and having used this camera under demanding conditions I would expect the durability to be above average. I recommend the 1DX for professionals and serious amateurs who are seeking a durable, high performance camera that can be used in a variety of shooting situations.

Coming from the 1D Mark III which I love and still love, used the 1D Mark Iv and 1Ds Mark III heavily, the canon EOS 1D X is the best camera I ever use .
The 1D iV was terrific in tracking but this one is astonishing, super fast you don't even need the right settings to get sharp images, playing with the 5D III and thought its IQ is the best but the 1D x is just terrific in Dynamic Range, Color Depth and its high ISO performance wins, if you own a 1D x and plan to get it don't be afraid to use the high ISO which is clean and super usable.
Its battery can be used on previous 1D like the 1D iv, 1D iii or 1Ds 3 which is amazing.
The size and weight of this beauty is nice, before I tried this body, I have heard people saying that its bigger and heavier than the 1D Iv or 1Ds iii but you can't see the difference IMO it's like I hold my 1D iii or 1D Iv, don't really feel difference from weight and size even if you put them together but specs shows that it s slightly bigger and heavier than 1Ds 3 and 1D 4 just older models are heavier like 1Ds 2, 1D Mark II N because of their bigger batteries, overall all 1D serie bodies feel the same and you can't see differences in weight , the 1Dx can take a lot of abuse thanks to its ruggedness and durability, all weather are welcomed, can go everywhere from Alaska to African sands and dust, just don't give it to the babies or throw it inside water.
Since I have large hands te 1Dx feels great to me but might be super large and heavy with people with small hands, but its very good and very capable, really worth the price , the 12 FPS is the biggest gift for action, sports shooters specially if the mirror locks up it will go through 14 FPS unbelievable and Outstanding, CANON DOES IT AGAIN and I WOULD RECOMMEND the CANON EOS 1D X for all kind of PRO SHOOTERS, I am COMMITTED To CANON EOS system.
I am very happy with the 1D X. :-)

Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu, fast autofocus, accurate autofocus, 12 frames per second, high iso capabilities
I have two...
I'll just bullet a few of the things that make the camera THE camera for my work...
Image quality at high ISO is remarkable. I frequently shoot above 8000 iso, prior this was borderline useable, now, I can shoot away with confidence, easily right up to 25k and not even think about it.
12 frames per second... this can make the difference in getting THE shot...
Autofocus is remarkably fast, much faster in all conditions than the 5D3. It is accurate and very quick to grab focus. With the adjustablity now offered it is easy to find something that out paces my subjects.
Build and size, I have larger hands so this body feels "normal" in my hands, I can understand how it might be large and heavy for some... perfect for me.
