Pros: size, digital image stabalization
Cons: poor sensor/image quality
Bought for easy carry.
Thinking DIGIC 4 + 16mgpx would result in good photos under a variety of conditions turned out to be a wrong assumption. It performed much like many entry level digital compacts.
In [P] mode, I can set the ISO. Otherwise, there is little control you have over how the picture will turn out (to be fair, not uncommon for budget point-shoot models).
In auto mode, it constantly uses a high, grainy looking ISO value when shooting indoors. ISO higher than 100 was too grainy for me, so I felt stuck shooting [P] mode at this setting - which requires a lot of light.
It seemed OK for outdoor, daytime pictures. Not so good indoors.

Pros: none
Cons: Slow auto-focus, Semi-sharp images, slow recovery, colors not true
I purchased this camera to replace a Canon A540 point and shoot 6 megapixel camera for my wife's birthday. The A810 pictures (16 megapixel) were not as sharp as my wife's old A540. The auto-focus was definitely slower and the camera recovery time was definitely slower. Both cameras had fresh Alkaline batteries in them. The colors on the A540 were more vivid and seemed truer than the A810. I would not recommend this as a replacement camera. This camera is going back to the retailer tomorrow.

Pros: Fast auto-focus, Super-sharp images, so easy to use
This camera is as advertised and more. Easy to install software, too. I'm amazed with the quality and love how easy it is to operate. Great bargain.
