I have installed and used several of these print/scan systems. While I find the individual componenets to be mechanically sound, the system is not without flaws. The software used can be awkward to navigate and has some limitations. First, you can not change the default scan format to pdf without creating a custom reset profile. Not very difficult to do, but should be modified for ease of use. Second, there is the issue with the loss of communication between the M40 scanner and the PC. The USB3 connection seems to drop frequently requiring the user to reboot the system to reestablish the link. Again, not a terrible problem, but diminishes quality. On the pro side, there are very few mechanical problems with both the plotter, which can be a variety of canon ipf products. They are reliable and easy to learn and use. The M40 scanner is simple and I have had no faults with it as yet. The same can be said for the touch screen display. As for the PC, it is as reliable as any PC. Whcih is the say, there is always the possibility of faults, but they are uncommon.
