Pros: excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use
After a good experience with the S95, the S100 improved on it. Many times when shooting with the 5DII, I have grabbed a shot with the always ready S100. Always RAW + jpg. Quick process through Lightroom, then export or print. While image quality can't compete with the 5DII in some tough situations, in many cases I have to look to see which camera I used. The ease of quickly getting a very good image says I always have the S100 with me.

Pros: Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Short battery life, could be faster.
Probably Canon's best compact camera. Will do almost as much as my DLSR's. Excellent as a backup and easiliy transportible due to its compact size.for everyday use. I am a proud Canon products owner and will continue to be one. Owner support from Canon's Tech Support is excellent beyond words. "KUDOS" Canon....
Very capable manual modes. Takes some study and practice to learn options and settings, well worth the trouble.

I was looking for a quality camera to carry in my pocket....sorry high quality camera.....I found it in the S100. Super small fits in my front pocket no problem, quality is amazing and big surprise the video is also awesome. Pretty good low light...actually better than my D3100 with the kit lens. I shoot mostly in aperture priority mode. I bought another battery because reports of short life are kinda true...battery was twenty at online book seller. I'm still looking for the timer thu?
