Lightweight. Built to last, Metal not Plastic Body - necessary for any pro. Worth every penney. Easy to use. Love being able to use all canon lenses. Would not buy any other kind than Canon. Have owned only Canon and will continue to do so.

Pros: build quality, performance, start up, ease of use, durability
Cons: functions
I bought this camera used from a friend. It was very lightly used. After using the camera for a few weeks, I can say I love it! It's very well built! It's not cheap plastic that you find on most newer DSLR's.

Pros: Superior build quality, excellent image quality, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, quiet, Solid Operation, easy to use
Can't go wrong with this camera! See one, get it! First DSLR for me, don't know why I resisted but did. The D30 is very impressive, excellent picture quality, uses all of the EOS EF lenses, easy to learn and use.

Pros: Superior build quality, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, quiet, easy to use, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life
Cons: Slow Start-up time
Having owned a Canon since 1983 I have moved through the product line. I had a full complement of EOS cameras and lenses and really wanted to go digital since digital point and shoots were becoming popular. I saw a prototype of the D30 at a camera show and knew this is where I wanted to be. I pre-ordered this camera and was most likely this first one to have on in the Northern NJ area. The camera has severed me well with more than 3000 shots. It still functions well but has never been a strong for getting an action shot like previous film cameras I owned. slow Start up and shutter lag has been my biggest complaint but if you are shooting scenery or family pictures this works fine. It is very durable and travels well but I don't subject this camera the extremes of my other EOS pros. This camera was Canons first entry into digital SLRs and you can see how far we have come.
