Pros: l series lense, professional feel, magnesium body, swivel screen
Cons: low light focusing
I've had my Pro1 since about 2005 and think it's the best quality P&S you can buy, better than most of the entry level SLR out there. Why? The L series lens that nobody has mentioned. You can imediately notice the difference in crispness and clarity. I took a macro of the lens cap on my knee and you could see the dust hairs on the cap and the threads in my jeans! Also the body is magnesium, not plastic and feels heavy and professional. The only qualm is the low light functionality. It is hard to get a focus if the light is not just right. Other than that the Pro1 is way above the other P&S out there and 8mp is plenty unless you are a professional.

Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use
Cons: Complicated controls/menu
The Canon Pro1 has made it so easy for me to take pictures that I find myself taking pictures everywhere I go. I have always admired great photography but thought I would be able to take such exciting pictures. With the Pro1 it is easy getting professional quality images. I love shooting them and others enjoying see my work [almost as much as I do.] Canon also has the best customer service on the planet. these guys are always available and helpful. What more can I say. I love my Canon camera.

I have owned this camera since 2004 and it really does a nice job for sunsets, landscape, wildlife and macro photos. The 7x optical zoom really works great on this camera! I won 1st place at the local fair for one of my sunset photos on the large super fine setting. I have taken over 800 pctures and alot of them I have made into notecards. This camera really takes good, clear photos.I would highly recommend this camera, because it is so easy to use.

Well bought this Pro 1 for my wife and she has used it for 4 years now and the other day the lens quit going to wide angle? Only runs from 200 to 135mm. So I'm sending it in to have it serviced. It takes great pictures and my wife likesd it. It's go a little shutter lag but hey. It's 4 years old....
