Pros: Superior build quality, excellent image quality, easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice custom functions, Ergonomic/comfortable to hold, Good light-metering, light
An awesome camera this would be the one that would get the title of it. I used this camera for almost a year before it was stolen, An amazing setup and feel, this camera was the most comfortable piece of equipment that i have had light to the touch and sturdy. super quick and a work horse for everything and anything that i needed it for plus the eye control! not really a necessity, but awesome nonetheless. Pow!

I have been shooting with Canon SLR's for 40 years and have owned a lot of different models and still have my old FTBn and EF at the present time. But this is the best of all film type cameras that I have used. At the time of purchase, I had recently purchased the EOS 20D but wanted this for a back up and and the ability to go wider than the .6 factor it would allow. I really didnot take the time to study the book and learn the full potential until a few weeks ago however I have now started using it to take photos of the gt-grandkids who are here for the summer. With its film convience, I can drop off the film at Walgreens and pick the photos up a few hours later. I recently tried it with my EF 24-105mm f/4 L and took the film to a prolab for processing. Very satisfied with the results. Although I now have the EOS 40D added to my collection; I am really happy that I purchased the Elan 7N while it was available a few years ago. And from looking at the prices that it is commanding, if one can be found, my unit has increased in value. But, there is no way that I would part with it. Of course, all of my EF lens that I have purchased for my digital SLR's are compatible with the Elan
Cons
I am sadden that the demand for film cameras and the old dark room skills are all but over. I spent many joyfull hours in the Hobby Shop dark room on a U.S. Air Force Base in Japan back in the 1950's developing film and printing pictures and later in my home dark room where I also learned how to print color prints. But we will have to add this to the long list of lost skills.

Cons: not made any more :(
This camera is a true wonder. Small, light, and with features that can't be beat. Takes a beating and keeps coming back for more.
Maybe the best camera I've ever used, especially for the photography that I do.

It is a shame that Canon went digital only. I love this "film" camera. Bring back 35mm film cameras!
